With this addition, Cadence Group expands its ability to meet local, state, and federal government needs for information technology services.

ATLANTA, GA – July 18, 2006 – Cadence Group®, a woman-owned $3.5 million information management firm based in Atlanta , is pleased to announce the addition of three new information management positions to its GSA Schedule Contract. These positions expand the scope of Cadence Group’s GSA contract for information technology (IT) solutions, giving local, state, and federal buyers an easy way to obtain the services of experienced information management specialists.

The original five-year GSA Schedule Contract (#GS-35F-0482P) was awarded in 2004 to Cadence Group by the federal government’s General Services Administration to provide General Purpose Commercial Information Technology services. These approved services include systems and/or information architecture (including taxonomy development), web design, custom programming, web content management, and indexing and abstracting.

The three new IT labor categories are Information Manager, Professional Information Specialist, and Information Technician – positions frequently needed in knowledge management systems, information centers (both physical and virtual), and record keeping centers.

“We are pleased to have these information management positions added to our GSA IT contract,” said Tina Baker, president and chief executive officer of Cadence Group. “This gives our government clients much more flexibility in finding qualified information management specialists, and it makes the procurement process easier for everyone. Being on the GSA Schedules enables Cadence Group to offer an easy-to-use contract vehicle that most program officers are already familiar with. As a result, we can help government agencies shorten lead times, reduce administrative costs, and quickly satisfy their information technology needs.”

Under the GSA Schedules (also referred to as Multiple Award Schedules and Federal Supply Schedules) Program, GSA establishes long-term, government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to over 10 million commercial supplies and services at pre-approved discounted pricing. These services can be ordered directly from GSA Schedule contractors (such as Cadence Group) or through the GSA Advantage!® online shopping and ordering system. This circumvents the otherwise long procurement process required for supplies and services not listed on the Schedules. Vendors listed on the Schedules have agreed that they will not charge commercial clients less than the approved GSA rates for comparable goods and services.
