Cadence Group established the virtual library for an aerospace company based in the Midwest. After the initial design, development, and implementation, for six years Cadence Group managed and staffed the virtual library and research team.

The Cadence Group team:

  • evaluated, negotiated and acquired licenses for the virtual library content by assessing user needs and analyzing user statistics
  • managed secured access to the information
  • negotiated vendor costs and license agreements
  • managed orders and payments
  • and developed and maintained the virtual library intranet site.

Services included the development of a knowledge repository, request tracking and performance management tools, and on-demand e-learning modules on how to use library resources and copyright compliance, as well as the promotion and coordination of live training opportunities. We provided a full help desk with library reference and in-depth research services in the subject areas of aerospace, engineering, materials science, physics, occupational health and business. We designed tools to monitor content costs, as well as customer support activities and costs, against budget.  Cadence Group worked closely with the IT department to anticipate ongoing changes in its network configuration and software transitions. We also participated in strategic planning activities and consulted on best practices in library science.
