At the end of  September, eight Cadence Group representatives attended the 2012 ARMA International conference, held this year in Chicago, IL.  Despite a lower number of participants than in previous years, the conference was a success on many levels.

In the Exhibition Hall, our representatives managed a table in the Consultant’s Corner. With rubber ducks as table favors, our message —“Let us help you get your ducks in a row”—went home as a bathtub favorite. According to our electronic scanner, we had nearly twice as many visitors to our booth than we had last year!  As a records and information management consulting and services firm, we emphasized our electronic information management services, including our ePurge tool that supports document/file organization and automated cleanup. This year’s increased visitation makes us optimistic; organizations are increasingly interested in finding ways to practically embark upon electronic records management initiatives.

While managing the booth kept us much busier than we anticipated (not that we’re complaining!), our Cadence Group attendees were able to visit several sessions during the conference.  One notable new addition to this year’s conference was called the “Rapid Fire Session.”  In these sessions, speakers had to make their points—sometimes complex ones—in twelve minutes or less!  While the Rapid Fire sessions were true to their name—arguably overly so—they were a creative way to keep sessions focused and on-topic,  and attendees were able to take away a core idea or two after only a 12 minute investment of time.
