Technical Information Specialist – Full-Time, On-site (Silver Spring, MD)

This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the library, including book processing, collection management, interlibrary loan coordination, and technical reference support.
- Editing and deleting metadata records
- Processing physical items for inclusion in the collection
- Shelving and maintaining physical items according to collection and shelf-list order
- Providing interlibrary borrowing and lending services
- Assists library patrons in circulation of materials, user registration, and locating physical items in the collection
- Provide technical support to Federal staff by screening incoming reference calls and providing accurate response to simple, readily available information.
- Support the Outreach Coordinator with new and ongoing library events
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited university is required
- Experience working in a customer service capacity
- Experience using OCLC, EndNote and Integrated Library Systems (ILS)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to work well in a team

Metadata Librarian II– Full-Time, On-site (Silver Spring, MD)
Cadence Group is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Metadata Librarian to support a Federal Agency in Silver Spring, MD. This role focuses on managing physical archive materials and coordinating with the federal library to evaluate, consolidate, and relocate documents as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, metadata expertise, and experience working with archival collections.
- Support receipt, cataloging, evaluation, consolidation, disposition, metadata development, maintenance, shelving, and management of the agency’s physical archive holdings, including but not limited to paper documents, magnetic tapes, and various other digital media, fiche, film and other physical media
- Review, separate and inventory contents of records and non-records containers maintained at various facilities to prepare the records for transfer to the appropriate records retention center
- Create or update agency’s records and such other standards-compliant catalog metadata as per the agency’s Library and/or WorldCat
- Coordinate with the agency to ensure that publications are annotated with appropriate information to link publications to archival holdings
- Confirm that analog documentation matches digital archival contents prior to transferring or disposing of analog documentation
- Ensure physical archive records are reasonably secure and safe during and following an emergency situation to include following any established notification protocol (Though a rare occurrence, leaks and other emergencies threatening the security and integrity of the physical archives may occur)
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited university is required
- Experience working in various databases and specialized systems unique to the agency, as well as common office automation and other software tools.
- Experience in library technical services, knowledge of library and data science, best practices, standards-based metadata, and an ability to develop an effective workflow, tracking and reporting processes are required.
- Ability to lift boxes of media, some of which may weigh more than 40 pounds (similar to a case of copier paper)

- Troubleshoot access issues related electronic resources.
- Create and edit metadata records.

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS
- Comfortable with working in the command line, running scripts

Imaging Specialist Full-Time, On-site/Hybrid(Washington, DC)
Cadence Group is seeking a detail-oriented Imaging Specialist with over 5 years of experience in leveraging advanced scanning equipment and software to convert physical records into efficient, searchable digital formats. Proficient in using advanced scanning equipment and software to convert physical documents into digital formats following NARA requirements. Demonstrates a deep understanding of NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) requirements for digitization, ensuring compliance with archival standards. Implement strategies for preserving the integrity of digital images over time.
- Advanced Scanning & Digitization: Skilled in using state-of-the-art imaging technology to digitize diverse documents, including legal, historical, and confidential materials.
- Metadata Management: Expert in associating accurate metadata with digitized images, ensuring they are indexed for optimal searchability, retrieval, and long-term preservation.
- Collaborative Solutions: Proven ability to work closely with IT teams and Records & Information Management (RIM) professionals to integrate imaging solutions within enterprise workflows.

- Policy Development: Design and implement records management policies that are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the unique needs of the agency. This includes developing policies on records classification, retention, and overall program governance.
- Stakeholder Education: Educate internal stakeholders, including staff and management, on the importance of effective RIM practices. Demonstrate how proper records management contributes to improved organizational efficiency, data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Technology Implementation: Lead the adoption and optimization of Microsoft Purview/Records Management or equivalent records management solutions. Assist in the configuration and implementation of these systems, ensuring that the organization benefits from the latest technological advancements in records management.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in imaging technologies, with a focus on digitization, metadata organization, and workflow integration.
