Atlanta Marriot Marquis to host the Amex OPEN forum event on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 for current and potential government contractors

ATLANTA – Senior Information Governance Consultant, Tina Teree Baker, will speak on government contracting in the session titled “You Have a Contract, Now What: Lessons Learned and Best Practices” at the annual American Express OPEN Atlanta event. American Express, as part of its Success Series forums designed to support small businesses, will host this free one-day event. The goal is to help Atlanta’s small businesses grow by securing contracts from the world’s biggest buyer — the U.S. government. The U.S. Small Business Administration reports that the government spends nearly $100 billion on goods and services from small businesses annually.

With over 20 years of experience in federal prime contracting, she is uniquely qualified to share the insights Ms. Baker has gleaned from her experience. She will offer tips on how to manage and expand your federal contract and position yourself as true partner to targeted government agencies.

Ms. Baker has a master’s-level designation in electronic records management, is an honors graduate of Georgia State University and has served as an Executive Officer of Cadence Group since 1988. Cadence Group has been working with federal agencies since 1992 and their client roster includes multiple public health and financial agencies like the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, NASA and the EPA. Although much of their work has been with federal agencies, they have also worked with many agencies at the local and state level. Cadence Group is a GSA Schedule 70 contract holder, prime and subcontractor for NASA, DOJ, CDC, FDIC, Federal Mine Safety & Health Review Commission, and DHS; and, teaming partner on several government-wide vehicles, including: EPA-IMCS3, Navy SeaPort-e and NIH CIO-SP3.
