Cadence Group names information management professional, Kenneth R. Lewis, to CIO position, strengthening its ability to assess and improve business processes, support IT tools and applications, direct information acquisition and management, and refine consulting methodology for the company and its clients.

ATLANTA, GA – October 25, 2005 – Cadence Group®, a woman-owned $3.5 million information management and competitive intelligence firm based in Atlanta , is pleased to announce that Kenneth R. Lewis , an information management professional , has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Mr. Lewis has over 20 years of consulting experience working with clients in many industries with emphasis in manufacturing, public health, medicine, and education. He has a history of successful program and project management of multi-million dollar projects for efforts as diverse as knowledge management, business strategy, IT alignment and strategic planning, and custom application development and integration.

Mr. Lewis has extensive experience with the Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model (SEI CMM). The CMM describes the principles and practices underlying software process maturity and helps organizations improve the development of their software processes. The CMM is also helpful when evaluating IT, knowledge management, and other technical areas. Cadence Group uses the CMM to improve internal processes and, during client assessments, to recommend process improvements.

In his role as CIO, Mr. Lewis is responsible for technology infrastructure and information architecture. He is in charge of the tools and applications that Cadence Group uses internally to support its business and externally to enhance client services. In addition, Mr. Lewis is responsible for acquiring, organizing, and disseminating the information Cadence Group uses to run its business and support clients. He is also responsible for the ongoing refinement of Cadence Group’s fundamental consulting methodology.

Prior to joining Cadence Group, Mr. Lewis was director of knowledge management for Sprint E|Solutions. In that capacity, he led the cross-functional team that defined, created, and organized the sales support portal consisting of over 1700 different sales, implementation, and customer support documents across 46 product lines.

Mr. Lewis earned a B.A. in Environmental Design from Miami University ( Ohio ). He has received numerous individual contributor awards and his projects have been cited for industry recognition. His article on “CADD Implementation” was published in The Pioneers of CAD in Architecture. He is active in the Technology Association of Georgia and Atlanta IT Alliance and serves on the eWEEK Advisory Panel.
