Russ Singletary, MLIS and information professional with Cadence Group, who works on assignment as an information consultant at BellSouth Corporation, received an invitation from a leading non-profit research association to speak on corporate virtual libraries in August 2004.
The American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) of Houston, Texas, is a nonprofit, membership-based organization that provides resources for process and performance improvement, of which BellSouth is a member. APQC sponsors periodic conference calls on topics of interest to the corporate research community.
“About 30 corporations and organizations from across the United States and Canada participated in the online conference,” Singletary said. “Other information professionals from a variety of industries are naturally interested in our business of acquiring, organizing, and disseminating information – and how we do that electronically and in a corporate setting. We had a great discussion session.”
